I’m Clare Halsey and Across The Courtyard is my jewellery design studio. Based in Portsmouth, Hampshire, a university city near the sea, I take inspiration from the eclectic mixture of people and their styles that I see around me every day.
Jewellery as unique as you
By choosing bespoke, handmade jewellery you can create something unique and particular to you, that reflects your style and what it means to you. Whether it is choosing the gemstone, precious metal or the style inspiration, no two pieces will ever be exactly the same.
Jewellery is special in its ability to be reworked into a brand new design, just as you may reinvent your own style over the years. Whether it is inherited, sentimental pieces or just a change in taste, the stones and metal can be remodelled into brand new wearable pieces for you to treasure, whilst retaining their memories and history.

Brand new and remodelled
Bespoke means custom made or tailor-made, for you. This could be a brand new design, using precious metals and beautiful gemstones that you have chosen yourself or it could be the reworking and remodelling of sentimental pieces that you just can’t part with but no longer suit you. The beauty is, you get to choose. Each design is done using your inspirations, tastes and styles, making it unique to you.
REPAIRS, ALTERATIONS AND RESTORATIONS
Jewellery is made to be worn and enjoyed. This means it can unfortunately be subject to wear and tear or accidental damage. The good news is most can be repaired or restored, whether it’s a simple clean and polish or a full re-tip of claws, restoration of the setting and a new stone. I have many years of experience in repairs and restoration of jewellery and will explain exactly what needs to be done and give you an accurate price before sympathetically repairing and restoring your treasured item, keeping it to its original style and beauty.
READY TO WEAR
